Postdoctoral Fellow

Ningmo Cheng

Ph.D. Student, University of Alberta

Ningmo is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta under the supervision of Dr. Mahdi Hamidi. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering and his Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University. During his graduate studies, his research focused on advanced additive manufacturing and the development of oxide-dispersion-strengthened (ODS) alloys through hybrid Laser Directed Energy Deposition (LDED) and vapor-phase precursor delivery. His thesis work explored the integration of nanoparticle generation and alloy strengthening mechanisms, with applications in high-performance structural materials. At the University of Alberta, Ningmo’s doctoral research centers on the development of 3D microbattery electrodes with high energy and power density.
