Ali Tavazohi

Ph.D. Student, University of Alberta

Ali Tavazohi is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, working with Dr. Mahdi Hamidi. He began his journey at Isfahan University of Technology, where he first discovered the exciting world of nanomaterials during his bachelor’s studies. This passion led him to earn a Master’s degree at the University of Tehran, where he focused on nanostructured materials in optoelectronics. In January 2025, Ali joined the nanoAIM research group to study the nanomechanics of 2D materials, bringing nanotechnology and materials science together. His research looks at how 2D materials behave, with hopes of new ideas and innovations in nanotechnology and material applications.
